Induction Procedures

Step One:

All interested applicants must first speak to an Arcane Scout who will have 'Scout' in their title or a leader (who arcanes). Novitiates to the order must attain at least level 35 before applying and be of a mana using class: Mage, Cleric, Druid, Augurer, Ranger, Fathomer, Paladin or Nephandi.

Step Two:

All applicants must submit an application/resume, detailing the following, but not limited to, information about themselves:

» The level, class, race of the applicant character.

» Any organizations the applicant belongs to with other characters (if any). This includes any organizations previously belonged to, such as Councils, Guilds, Clans, Orders, Roleplaying Groups, etc.

» Any relevent information about the applicant, such as a roleplaying history, reasons for applying to Arcanes, or interests and activities throughout the Realms.

» All applicants are permitted to give the names of their alternate characters, but are not required to do so.

These applications are for use in determining the applicants character and probability of being a good Arcane. They will be posted on an Induction board within the Arcane HQ for viewing by all members.

All applicants must not be a part of any Guild or Order upon the time of application. Please note though, that this does not guarantee entrance into the Order, but makes the application and induction process faster.

Step Three:

Applicants must have three (3) sponsorship notes for entering the Order, which may be turned in along with their application. It is strongly suggested that at least one of these sponsors is a current member of the Order of Arcanes, but it is not required. These sponsors must mudmail the applicant's Scout or hand in a mudsigned note to the applicant's Scout should he or she be online. Should the sponsor be a member of Arcanes, they may post their note upon the induction board in the proper format.

The sponsorship note should mention the sponsor's relationship to the applicant on the game, how long the sponsor has known the applicant, various activities participated in by both the sponsor AND the applicant (RP, runs, IOQC/IGQC, Guild/Order Quests, etc), whether the applicant is trustworthy or if the sponsor has had any problems with the applicant, as well as any other additional thoughts about the applicant.

Applicants are also required to mudmail a COMPREHENSIVE list of avatar alts to the current LeadScout and Arcanes Leadership. This list will not be shared with the general membership of the order, but will serve to establish some credibility of the applicant to both Leadership and the LeadScout.

Step Four:

You will be assigned a quest by your Scout which must be completed within a specific timeframe (usually a week). You must complete this quest alone unless otherwise stated by your Scout. The quest must be completed within the time specified by your Scout.

During your questing period, your vote note will also accompany your quest upon the induction board. Members of the Order may contact you for a small interview to get to know you better before voting. Applicants have the right to not answer questions; however, they must be aware that it is important to attempt to answer as many questions as possible.

Step Five:

Will be explained to you if you proceed past the fourth step :)

» During induction, applicants will be updated by their Scout frequently. Should this NOT occur, applicants may speak to the Lead Scout or a Leader to remedy this.

» Applicants must NOT have a record of abuse of Realms laws. Should they be found to have one, their application can be terminated. It is up to the applicant to make their Scout aware of any past problems, and what remedies, if any, have been taken to avoid more trouble.

» All applicants must be familiar with the content of the Recruit Book, (obtainable from any Scout or Leader) and must understand the rules and regulations governing all members of Arcanes.

» Any applicant who is re-applying MUST be sure to apply at least three months after their rejected application.

» Any applicant who fails to submit their sponsorship note within two weeks of application, or fails to complete any part of the induction process will have their application terminated immediately.

» All applicants MUST submit their sponsorship notes before or during their interview time with the Scout. Should the applicant fail to do so, their application will be withdrawn and they must begin the process again.

These rules are meant to ensure a swift induction process. Please direct any questions to your Scout. You may take any complaints about this process to your Scout, the Lead Scout, Leader or Deity.
